After several years of training in the Tohoku region, Swordsmith Masahiro opened his own blacksmith shop in his homeland of Kyoto.
In addition to learning about the daily work that goes into sword making, visitors can also experience forging a sword. Visitors are given the opportunity to try some swordsmithing techniques themselves.

Japanese swords, which were once made with the latest cutting-edge technology, are now forged in isolation from everyday life.
The reason why Masahiro welcomes visitors to his shop is to hopefully be able to pass on the skills of his predecessors to future sword smiths.
